Turn screen time into LEARNING time.

A NEW WAY OF LEARNING

Dopalearn® offers a new method of learning for children by blending learning with entertainment. It’s a video platform that uses lessons and challenges in place of advertisements to teach foundational concepts. The training is done by periodically interrupting the video with nano-lessons in the form of popups. A built-in library allows the parent to find and assign lessons before handing the device over to the child. Lessons range from ABCs, numbers, vocabulary building, first words & sight words, to more advanced topics such as reading, writing, spelling, and math.

With over a thousand individual nano-lessons, Dopalearn® puts a wealth of educational resources right at your fingertips. Each nano-lesson is professionally crafted with studio-quality audio designed to teach the foundational skills of reading, writing, and arithmetic (math).

FAQs

The science behind Dopalearn®

Dopalearn is an innovative learning method that leverages the power of dopamine, the neurotransmitter behind motivation, to expedite the learning process. By using Dopalearn, learners can experience a range of benefits that can make their learning journey more efficient and effective.

One of the primary benefits of using Dopalearn is that it can help learners to stay motivated and engaged with the learning material. Dopamine is a key player in the brain's reward system, which means that when learners use Dopalearn, their brain releases dopamine in response to learning, making them feel good and more motivated to continue learning.

Another benefit of using Dopalearn is that it can help learners to retain information better. When learners are motivated and engaged with the material, they are more likely to remember what they have learned. Additionally, the dopamine release triggered by Dopalearn reinforces neural pathways, which helps learners to solidify their knowledge and skills.

Finally, using Dopalearn can help learners to develop a love of learning that can last a lifetime. By associating the learning process with positive feelings of motivation and engagement, learners are more likely to view learning as an enjoyable and rewarding activity, rather than a chore or a source of stress. This can lead to a lifelong love of learning and a more successful and fulfilling life.

The Lessons Library

Most of our lessons are focused on the "three Rs"; the 3 basic skills taught in school: reading, writing, and arithmetic (math), with a heavy emphasis on spelling & math. The lessons are a combination of short colorful audiovisual elements lasting 3 to 10 seconds. A typical course package consists of 10 nano-lessons.

How many lessons are available in Dopalearn®?

We are currently offering 100+ courses totaling over 1000 nano-lessons in English with plans to introduce many other languages. The following languages are currently in development: Arabic, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Dutch, German, French, Hindi, Spanish, Turkish, and Russian.

Two Powerful Training Modes

Dopalearn offers two distinct training modes found in the Launch Pad. The first, Lesson Only mode, the standard non-interactive mode that involves interrupting the viewing experience with non-skippable nano-lessons. The second is Practice Mode, an interactive mode that also challenges the learner in addition to the lessons.

The "Launch Pad" explained

Dopalearn's Launch Pad is not only the heart of the system but also functions as the control center for the Popup Training System. This system has been intuitively designed to allow parents or teachers to customize the learning experience according to their preferences. There are 2 key parameters that apply to both teaching modes: Pop-up Frequency which controls the duration between pop-ups and ranges from 15 seconds to 5 minutes, and Lesson Count which determines the number of nano-lessons presented to the learner before advancing to the next lesson. The third parameter, Challenge Count, is unique to Practice mode and specifies the number of challenges to present before progressing to the next set of lessons.

What is Nano-learning?

Nanolearning is a teaching and learning approach that involves delivering small, focused bits of information to learners in a way that is easy to understand and remember. The goal of nano-learning is to help learners quickly acquire and retain knowledge and skills by providing them with bite-sized pieces of information that they can easily process and remember.

What is edutainment?

The words "education" and "entertainment" are combined to form the term "edutainment." It describes a category of content that successfully mixes learning and enjoyment in a fun and interactive way. Edutainment aims to make studying enjoyable and fun so that viewers are more likely to remember the material. Educational games, interactive movies, and other digital and non-digital formats are just a few examples of edutainment, which aims to both educate and entertain at the same time.

Do I get to choose the lessons?

Yes! Our super-friendly user interface with an integrated preview module that makes finding and assigning the training a breeze. Beautifully animated lessons with crystal clear studio-quality audio at your fingertips, with equally impressive challenges designed to motivate learning. A section is made available for parents who wish to fine-tune the training by allowing them to define custom parameters. Control the frequency of the lesson pop-ups, to challenge distribution and the progression scenarios.

Is Dopalearn® for my child?

Our lessons are compatible with all ages (although our current video collection is best suited for the younger ages). We are actively expanding our collection to cover all age groups.  A free version has been made available to help you answer this question.

How soon can my child start learning?

Children can start learning from the moment they are born. From the very beginning, they are constantly learning and developing new skills and abilities. In the first year of life, children learn to communicate and express their needs, to recognize and respond to the emotions of others, and to develop physical skills such as grasping objects and sitting up. As they grow, children continue to learn and develop new skills and abilities at a rapid pace. By the time they reach school age, children have already learned a tremendous amount and are ready to start learning more formal academic skills. So, in a sense, children are always learning, and the learning process begins from the moment they are born.

What does "Dopalearn" stand for?

Dopalearn is a combination of “dopamine", the neurotransmitter behind motivation, and the word “learn”.

What is dopamine?

Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that is involved in a number of important functions in the brain, such as movement, motivation, and reward. It is often referred to as the "feel-good" neurotransmitter, as it is released in response to pleasurable experiences, such as eating good food, playing, or achieving a goal. Dopamine is also involved in learning and memory, as well as in regulating mood and behavior.

What role does dopamine play in learning?

Since dopamine is involved in the reinforcement of pleasurable or rewarding behaviors, this can help to motivate the learner to learn and remember new things. For example, when a child completes a difficult puzzle and experiences the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction, dopamine is released in the brain, which can help to reinforce the behaviors and strategies that the child used to solve the puzzle. This can motivate the child to continue learning and trying new things, which can help to support their overall development and learning. In general, the release of dopamine in response to pleasurable or rewarding experiences can help to support a child's motivation and engagement in learning.
